I think it was successful, since when I run lsmod | grep vboxguest, I get the output: vboxguest 45056 0, which I gather means that the Virtualbox kernel module is installed and that the guest additions have been installed correctly. I know that this way this should work is by installing guest additions, and I've done this. I have installed Ubuntu server 12.4 in Oracle Virtual box, after completing installation, i cant use the Ubuntu server in full screen, guest additions. When I go to full screen mode, the "Ubuntu screen" is still windowed and very small. I've set up the virtual machine all fine, but would like to view it in full screen mode, but I can't do this. Note setting to full screen in VirtualBOX just hides the Windows 7 toolbar on the LHS. Any ideas to as how to make Ubuntu take up the full screen (Same space as the XP screen). ![]() I'm running an Ubuntu 20.04 virtual machine on Virtualbox. I installed an XP virtual machine and everything is fine but the UBUNTU machine does not fill up the screen. This will launch a unix script runing on the Ubuntu terminal. I know this is a fairly commonly asked question, but I've followed the other solutions and none of them seem to solve my problem. On virtual machines menu bar on top, click on Device/Install Guest Additions.
